Why Strive when there is Peace?

Why Do We Continue to Strive Instead of Resting in God's Peace and Plan?

We live in a world where striving, hustling, and constantly pushing forward are praised. Society tells us that success is measured by how hard we work, how much we achieve, and how far we go. But as Christians, we are invited to live differently—resting in the peace that God offers and trusting His plan. So why do we keep striving instead of surrendering?

The Fear of Letting Go

One reason we strive is because of fear. Letting go of control and trusting God can feel scary. What if His plan doesn't align with what we think we need? What if His timing feels too slow? We often fear the unknown and cling to the illusion that we can handle everything on our own. But the truth is, God's ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9). When we trust Him, we are stepping into a plan far greater than anything we could ever imagine.

We Forget His Promises

In the midst of daily challenges, we sometimes forget that God has promised to take care of us. We feel the weight of responsibilities, worries about the future, and the pressure to get it all right. But God says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). His promise is not based on our performance but on His unfailing love and grace. 💛

The World’s Voice is Loud

The world tells us to keep going, to do more, to be more. Social media, success stories, and societal expectations bombard us, making us feel like we’re never doing enough. But God's voice offers something different. He calls us to rest in Him and trust that He's working behind the scenes, even when we don’t see it. The challenge is learning to quiet the world's noise and listen to the still, small voice of God that says, "Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10).

Choosing to Rest is an Act of Faith

Resting in God's plan doesn’t mean we stop working or pursuing goals. It means we stop striving out of fear, insecurity, or doubt. We can work with peace in our hearts, knowing that God is guiding our steps. Rest is an act of faith—a choice to trust in God's perfect plan and timing, even when we can't see the outcome. It's choosing to lay our burdens down at His feet and walk in His peace.

Let's remember to surrender our plans and desires to God, trusting that He will take care of every detail. His peace is a gift that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and when we rest in it, we find true freedom. 🕊️
